How do you know your cat is getting the nutrition they really need? You're bombarded with cat food commercials, each alleging that their product is better than the others. Simply Diego's in Albuquerque, NM can help reduce the confusion. We carry a wide range of cat foods and can help you in choosing the one that is right for your precious pet.
Your cat is a hunter, descended from a long line of hunters. Wild cats naturally ate a wide variety of nutritious food, based upon what they could snag. But your domestic cat counts on you to feed them. Simply Diego's has all the foods that will keep them happy and healthy.
What Nutrients Does Your Cat Need?
For starters, your cat is a carnivore. They require meat in some form. This may be chicken, beef, lamb, fish, or eggs. They need fats to provide energy and help absorb vitamins like A, D, B1, B2, B3, and B6. Also, some cat foods include carbohydrates, which are digestible and provide energy.
Reading a Cat Food Label
Cat food companies are required to put certain information on their labels, such as ingredients in descending order of weight, and guaranteed analysis, which tells you the minimum and maximum amount of nutrients like fats, protein, and fiber.
Understand food descriptions. There's a big difference between "chicken cat food" and "cat food with chicken." Chicken cat food must be 95 percent chicken, while cat food with chicken can have as little as 3 percent. Food referred to as "chicken dinner" (or chicken formula) can be anywhere between 25 and 95 percent chicken.
Labels include feeding directions, but they're a guideline and not a "one size fits all." Your vet's advice takes precedence.
Look for the nutritional adequacy statement, which explains whether the food is meant for an adult cat or a kitten.

Super friendly staff! They were able to squeeze us in for an unscheduled dog bath. We were just traveling through town, and our husky girl needed to freshen up before the next stop.
Do not let the small size of this pet store fool you, they have all the high quality and speciality products you could want for your dog. The biggest asset is the actually knowledgeable and always readily available staff. In that small store they probably have more people working than in an entire PetSmart!
Multiple times the staff recommended a product that actually helped my senior dog who has a very sensitive stomach. I had long searched for something to replace the probiotics she used to take and were no longer working, and not until one staff member recommended a specific GI tract pumpkin powder did I find something that worked for my senior dog.
They accept coupons for Earthborn dog food, and the rewards program is very good, meaning you buy a certain number of things, you get one free. For the above mentioned pumpkin powder and also my dog's joint pills, it's like getting a 20% discount every time because the rewards program offers a free one so often.
This is not even mentioning all the good the store and staff do for the animal community, always raising money and donating thousands every month to local animals in need, and real world places too, that are local.
Simply Diego's is one of the best businesses of any kind in all of Albuquerque.
Amazing diy bath! Great store, lots of really good treats for the furbabies. Staff was super friendly :) will be back again.
Employees are accommodating and helpful.
Made me feel welcome from time I walked in the door. Helped fit a harness on my energetic dog. Dog bath time is always easy! I appreciate that they support our local animal rescue groups.

Brought my girl in for a bath. It was our first try at a DIY bath, that wasn’t in my house. I loved the hydraulic tub and not having to get down on my knees. Made that so much nicer for me. Lucy did really well until the blow dryer. Then again she doesn’t like them when I’ve taken her to groomers. But towels did the trick and she was dry enough to go in the car.
All in all, I’m really happy with the experience and we will definitely do it again!
